Lack of Expertise:
Avoid clinics with only dentists available or dentists who claim they are proficient in dental implants but lack the title of “surgeon” or “implantologist” appointed by an official university.
Neglectful Patient Care:
Check if the implantologist is supported by 2 or more nurses per patient, not just one who is overburdened or has to attend to multiple patients simultaneously.
Lack of Technical Prowess:
Clinics without an onsite laboratory or chairside technicians who are responsible for your teeth’ final fitting and look.
Incompetent Admin Team:
When you talk to them, ensure that the admin team fully understands your position, the dental implant procedures and the associated risks involved.
Language Barriers:
When you talk to them, ensure the team speaks your language fluently.
Substandard Facilities:
If the clinic lacks a 3D CBCT scanner & OPG X-ray device and / or has no dental laboratory., then they are not a specialist dental implant clinic.
Additionally, watch out for clinics that are not certified & accredited to international standards of safety or patient care.
Poor Services:
Beware of clinics that do not offer airport pick-up services or help organise local accommodation.
Lack of Transparency:
Steer clear of clinics that do not publish their patient-reported treatment outcome scores or have a few reviews on the internet on 3rd party sites such as Google Maps & Facebook.
Moreover, look out for clinics that have no recent case studies of treatment on their website and social media.
